Kapten had crossed the channel from its native France as a rival ride-hail app to Uber. In a competitive market, beset with issues covering everything from data privacy to passenger safety, W was brought in to build reputation as a responsible operator as well as drive passenger numbers.
We activated a strategy to place Kapten spokespeople within London business media as a trusted industry commentator and thought leader. This has included advancing its green cam.
We’ve created almost 300 pieces of coverage in just over 6 months. This has included launching initiatives such as Kapten electric, its new zero-emission fleet and Ride4Good, the first rounding-up charity scheme in the ride-hailing sector.
On the day Uber lost its license for a second time, Kapten GM Mariusz Zabrocki was rapidly placed for studio interviews with ITV London, Sky News and CityAM. Since we began working with Kapten in August 2019 it has rapidly become the number two ride-hail app in the capital and we’ve provided the specialist comms support to help Kapten navigate its merger with sister company Free Now.
